12 Smart Tips for Buying on eBay

Now that you know how to sell, here are some basic tips for buying smart on eBay-

Tip 1- Use eBay Search and use keywords to search products. For exa- Pendrive 8gb

Tip 2- Try getting "Free Shipping". If product value is less, normally there will be no free shipping otherwise "free shipping" will save you some money.

Tip 3- If selecting free shipping, for higher value order (normally more than Rs 500/-). go to "More Refinements" and select item location "Less than 200kms". This will help filtering those listings which are free only in "Seller's City" and their city is not your or nearby.

Tip 4- Check Item Condition as "New" (If you are not particularly searching for second hand)

Tip 5- Read the item descriptions carefully and the declaration of the seller too. For example He may have mentioned that "Price is inclusive of special handling charges" though the listing is in free shipping. This means selling price of the product is more than MRP.

Tip 6- Try buying products with "Manufacturer Warranty" rather than "Seller Warranty" which will ensure you for original branded products.

Tip 7- Give preference to the seller with higher nos of ratings and better positive feedbacks

Tip 8- Use coupons to get best value. You may get coupons directly from eBay when you have account and opted in for promotional mails. Some coupons may be account specific and some coupons are "On first come first serve Basis". Grab the best coupon and apply at the time of check out to get best product price. You wil find latest coupons for ebay from COUPONS FOR EBAY

Tip 9- Don't forget to communicate with eBay (Customer Care) if any issue is there with your purchase.

Tip 10- Please note that except electronics, eBay Guarantee does not cover the quality of product, so beware to confirm the quality of product before purchase. You can even contact the seller and clear your doubts.

Tip 11- Always transact through the payment gateway of eBay i.e. Paisapay, this is the safest way to secure your money if something goes wrong. Don't entertain any transaction outside eBay until you trust the seller and ready to assume the responsibility for your transaction.

Tip 12- Always do any conversation through eBay M2M message only or at least try to keep it through message to keep it in eBay's records. This will help you in winning any claim raised by you or against you.

Buying on eBay | Easier and Cheaper than any eCommerce Site

When you are planning to buy something, Watch around on most eCommerce sites. I bet you will find others price lesser than eBay. Now you're thinking "Then why the hell is this guy telling that eBay is cheaper???"

I say wait!!! Let me finish

eBay has almost similar but comparatively higher price than other sites, but wait this is not done yet. When you go on other sites, they say that its discounted price and no coupon is applicable for that. While on eBay, time by time there are so many useful coupons (That I will be posting on this blog soon) which take the price down significantly and you get a lot better price under the umbrella of eBay Guarantee (Will cover this topic later).

Now lets understand the trick behind. When you get discount on other sites, its mostly borne by either the seller or the third party (like banks) but when eBay shares a coupon it is mostly borne by eBay itself and here comes the point why eBay is cheaper than others. so when something is sold on eBay, eBay charges the seller only 10 to 15% while it gives discount to the buyer of up-to 70% above the price discounted by seller untill it is specifically listed in eBay deals section.

For example when I searched for "sandisk 16gb pendrive 3.0" See what I got in search result-
Now imagine with a discount of flat Rs 200/- buy using coupon and then decide as after the discount, you will get the pendrive in Rs 375, which is the lowest in the market. Though there are some catches which need to be taken care of when you buy on eBay. I will cover this issue under separate topic "Learn how to buy safe and genuine products on eBay".

How Selling on eBay is different and easier than others

Many People ask me to explain how to sell on eBay and I give them a weird answer- "Register and Sell". And actually I am serious. eBay selling process is quite a lot simpler than any eCommerce site in India.

In Flipkart, They assign a particular account manager for you only if you have more than 30 products to start with. Once Account Manager is assigned he will give you an excel sheet to fill with account details, send to him. If he feels ok he will upload or he will again ask you to change the things.

In Snapdeal, They again assign a account manager till the time your first product is uploaded. Thereafter they have a seller support helpline no, you should contact to. They again follow the same process as Flipkart.

Basically these No1 and No 2 in India keep a strong hold on their sellers and don't let them free to sell on their portal.

On the other hand eBay is more of a system based. It gives you instant access to list on their portal as soon as you add your account details for payment. You are the person who decides what to sell, what should be the details added. and on top of that eBay has excellent customer service which most of the time ensure customer's interest and safety.

Stay tuned to know step by step guide to Sell on eBay.

Know Ebay for best eCommerce Experience

Yeah You Read it Right.

In India Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon etc and many more eCommerce websites are there, where you can  purchase most of the things. Also they do a lot of promotion, marketing and Branding and boast themselves to be the best website for online shopping but let me assure you, eBay has a lot more to offer you than its rivals. You may not be aware of that as eBay doesn't advertise much or lets say almost no advertisement. eBay purely works on mouth publicity. Best of the offers, coupons, customer service, eBay Guarantee and lot more...

You will believe me as I will explain you the way eBay is changing Indian eCommerce Industry.
